Jackson Dawson Papers

Jackson Thornton Dawson (1841-1916) was the first plant propagator at the Arnold Arboretum. Our collection of his papers, ephemera, and artifacts was organized and documented in the 1990s but the current finding aid does not contain Dawson materials donated to the Arboretum in the intervening years. Those will need to be added. The finding aid will also need to be reorganized to reflect our current standards for organization of our archival collections. The intern working on this project will need to incorporate the new material, reanalyze the contents, and rewrite the finding aid. In addition, any photographs that have not been digitized already will need to be scanned for our electronic archival collections.
