Project Details
The Franco-American Collection has recently acquired a collection of the Forum Francophone des Affaires, a now defunct organization that operated in Lewiston-Auburn in the 1990s. This collection contains various formats, including letters, photos, building plans, and is about 4 linear feet. The student will use the Franco-American Collection's processing manual to process and rehouse the collection according to DACS and other archival best practices. The student will then learn to use ArchivesSpace, the collections management system that the Franco Collection uses, to create an online version of the finding aid. The student will also learn about being a lone arranger/manager of a small archive, which includes conducting classes and other events, working with a community board of directors, and more.
