Project Details
"Uncovering the Diverse History of Massachusetts Eye and Ear" represents the Abraham Pollen Archives of Massachusetts Eye and Ear's efforts to identify and research the women and Black, Indigenous, and people of color (BIPOC) who have been a part of MEE’s legacy, and amplify their stories. Now in its second round of Advancing Open Knowledge Grant funding, the project is focusing on filling gaps in documentation, increasing discoverability, and working toward the creation of a digital exhibit. The student will be invited to participate in a variety of activities, including writing and research, digitizing images, entering finding aids and other metadata in ArchivesSpace, assisting in outreach activities, and working on a proposed oral history series. The student will be invited to participate in any meetings and/or trainings related to the project. A number of other opportunities are available to supplement this work based on the student's interests, including processing new or backlogged collections and working with MEE's large collection of medical instruments to assist with reappraisal, deaccession, and preservation.
Are you willing to complete two evaluations of your students progress through out the course of the semester?
