Site Description
Martin Van Buren National Historic Site preserves and interprets Lindenwald, the home and farm of the 8th US President. Located in the Hudson Valley, approximately 20 miles south of Albany, NY, Lindenwald was Van Buren's home from the end his presidential term, (1827-1841) until his death in 1862. Van Buren managed the estate as an experimental and working farm.
