Site Description
We are a small, ever-growing and evolving historical society that started as a sub-committee of the JCC in 1971. In the early 80s, we gained our own 501(c)3 status. We have been housed in the JCC ever since. Our archival, climate-controlled vault and climate-controlled off-site storage holds over 50,000 documents, photographs, scrapbooks,publications, artifacts, and items of a/v media, as well as nearly 1100 oral history interviews related to individuals, families, businesses, agencies, and congregations spanning ~1860-present day.
We have workspaces for analog arrangement, as well as computer-based digitization, cataloging, and arrangement.
