Franco-American Collection

The Franco-American Collection at the University of Southern Maine preserves and promotes the culture and heritage of Maine’s Franco-American population. We are an active collecting institution seeking materials related to the lives and experiences of Franco-Americans in Maine. Due to our location in Lewiston, the bulk of our collections relate to the Lewiston-Auburn area, though we also have materials from other towns and cities in Maine, including Biddeford, Augusta, and Rumford. We collect many different forms of artifacts, ranging from traditional manuscript collections to clothing, religious items, and art works.
