Amazon Radio Collection – organization & cataloging

This project is best suited for a student very interested in Lesbian music. Some basic knowledge of (familiarity with) Lesbian music is helpful (but not required).

We have a large selection of albums and CDs donated by Pam Smith who was a DJ for a community radio station program called Amazon Radio. We also have some of her ephemera as well as well as her playlists.

To date, the collection has been sorted, specifically identifying and separating the CDs by Lesbians from other generic works. Lesbian-identified CDs and albums have been alphabetized and boxed. Student could choose to focus on the albums or the CDs. (Some of the CDs have already been catalogued.)

This project involves going through the boxes of organized CDs.
• Catalog the CDs into the Collectorz.com database
• Research and add musician webpages or other weblinks to catalog database as possible

** This is a huge project and we do not expect it to be completed in the allotted time. Also, it could also be good for a team of two working together.


Bonus....
There are several boxes now identified as “not Lesbian” and a couple of boxes that have not been looked into at all. We’ve been told by the donor that they probably do not contain music by Lesbians. We want to do a second round of verification to be sure.
