Project Details
This project will involve creating finding aids for multiple small processed collections (less than 2 cubic feet) that are only described with a catalog record. Topics of the collections include medical-military service in World War I and II, travel diaries, natural history, and medical society meetings. Collection materials date from 1765-1949.
Under the supervision of the processing archivist, the person in this role will review collections, write new descriptive notes, transfer previously created description to ArchivesSpace, and update MARC records in Alma. The intern will be asked to write a short news post about their work for the Center's website.

This position is based onsite in Boston, MA. There is no remote work availability for this position.
This position will include exposure to allergens.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite - especially Microsoft Word, Excel, and Teams.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Optional qualifications:
Ability to lift and move 40 lb. storage boxes.
Prior experience working in an archives or special collections.
