Digitization Support for the Simmons University Archives

Over the Spring 2026 semester, the Simmons University Archives seeks an advanced field placement student enrolled in SLIS to support two ongoing digitization projects: (1) The Simmons Review/Simmons Magazine (2) Phase II of the University Archives’ Photograph Collection Initiative. The student will be supervised by Kelsey Kolbet, University Archivist, and Hannah Gershone, Archives and Digital Initiatives Fellow. The student will resume work on both projects. Tasks include scanning materials, editing scans, creating metadata for digitized materials, and opportunities to ingest content into Preservica/the Simmons University Digital Archives. All of these tasks will support the Archives’ mission of enhancing public access to, and long-term preservation of, Simmons University’s history.
