Project Details
This project will give Max Greenleaf real world experience cataloging a wide variety of music materials. He will be learning how to catalog music scores, music recordings, and music ETDs. This will include instruction in MARC, RDA, NACO, NACO Music Project, and BIBCO Music. In addition to learning about music cataloging, Max will be able to learn about being a librarian in an academic setting; have opportunities to interact with other cataloging librarians; attend a variety of meetings as his schedule allows; and, also have access to music cataloger Casey Mullins at Western Washington University who will be filling in for me if I'm busy. Casey is on leave at the moment, but has time to help with this project as needed. At the end of this project Max should have a good idea how to successfully hit the ground running in any music cataloging position he might get after graduation.
