Project Details
Projects may include one or more of the following, depending on time required and the language skills of the student:
1. Provide a detailed inventory of the contents of 5 archival boxes with materials relating to Fr. Francis A. Rouleau (1900-1984). The contents of these boxes is already divided roughly by topic or material type (e.g., letters) by Fr. Rouleau himself, but I don't know in detail what they contain. The language of this collection is primarily English, possibly with some French, Italian, and Chinese mixed in.
2. Provide a detailed inventory of the contents of 5 boxes of material (primarily news clippings, with some photocopied letters and other writings) related to the Jesuits and other Catholic orders in China and Taiwan between 1923 and 1967. These materials have already been grouped by year and a partial inventory has been made.
3. Catalog books and journals from the late 19th century to roughly 1950 in English, French, and possibly other European languages. This project, along with projects no. 4-6, will include some use of the OCLC Connexion software.
4. Catalog modern (post 1950) books in Japanese (requires knowledge of Japanese).
5. Catalog modern (post 1950) books in Korean (requires knowledge of Korean but also of Chinese characters).
6. Catalog modern (post 1950) books in Chinese (requires knowledge of Chinese).
