Project Details
The Digital Scholarship Group is looking for an intern to assist our portfolio of projects with but not limited to metadata and ingest of digital materials, search and discoverability optimization through keywords, working with WordPress and Omeka S to develop online exhibits, and supporting initiatives like the Crowdsource Initiative. Our portfolio of projects include the Early Caribbean Digital Archive, the Digital Archive of Indigenous Language Preservation, the Catskills Institute, and the Boston Research Center. Previous interns have worked on our Neighborhood Public Art Project where they developed trainings on metadata and Wikidata for the teen photographers of the ICA Teen Photography Collective, researched and created Wikidata records for our Boston Black Women Lead project, and developed documentation and trainings to help the Digital Scholarship Group and the Centers for Digital Scholarship launch its Crowdsourcing Initiative and service. The work of the intern can be tailored to their professional interests and interns are provided with publication avenues such as 20-30 minute talks or blog posts. This is an ideal practicum to a graduate student interested in cultural heritage, digital scholarship, or digital community history.
