Project Details
For Jess Petrazzuoli-Gallagher
This project will consist of processing a large addition to the MGH Archives School of Nursing collections, with additional materials from the MGH Nursing Department and post-SON school closure successors to the program. The scope of this project will include becoming familiar with where the collection(s) will fit in the landscape of existing MGH Archives collections and unpicking the tangled web of our nursing history backlog. Depending on interest and time, other sub-projects might include: creation of subject guides for MGH Archives topics, review of materials for digitization, artifact handling and cataloging, and other related projects.

Requirements
Applicant will require approval through the hospital's non-employee system. This may require a CORI check, TB test, attestation to flu immunization status, and hospital-wide required training on subjects like safety and HIPAA, among other requirements. The applicant for Spring 2026 semester has already completed the process of volunteer onboarding at the hospital, so will be able to bypass the standard, long wait time usually required before being allowed to begin work.

Availability
MGH Archives are open business hours, M-F, 9-5. I won't be able to host on Thursdays, but will have flexibility on any other day as long as the schedule is consistent throughout the semester. Remote work is possible for some parts of this project.
