Project Details
This on-site archival internship is best suited for students with previous archival experience. Projects may include evaluating, processing, and incorporating small local history collections into the Beverly Room special collection. Interns will review previously created archivist reports and preservation & processing plans for the Beverly Room, with the goal of determining what collection materials meet the criteria for inclusion in the Beverly Room or should be offered to other institutions or discarded. Depending on an intern's interest areas, interns may also digitize materials, contribute to a map/atlas digitization project, or organize a patron program. At the conclusion of their internship, interns will draft a summary of the projects they worked on to share with library staff. The intern will be supervised by the Head of Reference.

Intern hours can be flexible, but must fall within Head of Reference's general schedule Mondays 1-9 PM, Tuesdays thru Fridays 9-5, with every 4th weekend Sat. 9-5 and Sun. 1-5 (starting January 24 & 25). Work must be completed on-site, though some remote work may be possible. Orientation may be in-person or virtual, depending on the intern's schedule.
