Project Details
This on-site archival internship project will include reviewing previously created archivist reports, updating preservation plans, and processing materials for Beverly Public Library’s local history Beverly Room special collection with the goal of helping to shape the Beverly Room’s path forward. Projects may include proposing improvements to existing preservation plans; deaccessioning, processing & preservation of the Beverly Room collection items; drafting finding aids; digitization of Beverly Room materials; or patron programming. At the conclusion of their internship, students will draft a summary of this projects related to the local history special collection to share with library staff. The intern will be supervised by the Head of Reference.

Intern hours can be flexible, but must fall within Head of Reference's general schedule Mondays 1-9 PM, Tuesdays thru Fridays 9-5, with every 4th weekend Sat. 9-5 and Sun. 1-5 (starting January 24 & 25). Work must be completed on-site, though some remote work may be possible. Orientation may be in-person or virtual, depending on the intern's schedule.
