Project Details
This position is ideal for a student who is looking to expand their knowledge of archival processing of historic records, as well as metadata creation and management in ArchivesSpace. The field experience will be to process institutional records from a Boston University Archives records series. The work will directly support research by students from African American and Black Diaspora Studies engaged in a project to surface the experiences of underrepresented groups of students staff and faculty on campus.

Students would gain experience processing analog University Archives records (per the Guidelines for College and University Archives 2023, processing includes “…all the archivist's activities to accession, arrange, describe, preserve, and make available for research use the documents in the archives”), from an important institution in American history, as well as gain experience working in ArchivesSpace.
