Small Collections Processing and Stacks Maintenance

This project is for a student intern to process one of our several small manuscript or archival collections currently in the institutional backlog. The student will be instructed in the accessioning, arrangement, housing, and description processes for manuscript/archival collections in accordance with Describing Archives: A Content Standard and William & Mary Special Collection Research Center's best practices. Additionally, the student will be trained in the usage of the ArchivesSpace platform to create an accession record and finding aid for the collection. Following the completion of the processing project, additional opportunities will be provided to assist in ongoing stacks maintenance projects using the ArchivesSpace platform.
