Virtual Practicum: American Textile History Museum records (Semester)

Students will survey, arrange and describe a small collection that has been digitized for remote access. The collection is an excerpt of a much larger collection that documents the operations and history of a local history museum that closed in 2016. Deliverables will include survey notes, a processing plan, finding aid, and digital exhibit using Omeka.

The Practicum Moodle site includes detailed information regarding the four (4) projects all Practicum students are expected to complete. All projects will be "graded" as Pass/Fail. These include:

Survey Document: Complete a survey of your collection and accompanying survey notes template. Meet with your supervisor to review.
Processing Plan: Create a processing plan for your collection after surveying the materials.
Finding Aid: Intellectually organize the collection and describe it in finding aid
Digital Exhibit: Select at least 10 items for exhibit and create an online exhibit using Omeka
