Site Description
A Carnegie library well preserved. We are the library for the city of New Brunswick which is the county seat. We are part of a large network of libraries in central NJ. We also have an archive that collects the history of New Brunswick as well as library history. The archive is in the basement and has an extensive array of books, documents, and manuscripts. We are well equipted with work space and supplies for archival, preservation and exhibit work. Our earliest book is 1561 brought by early Dutch settlers. Our oldest Library record is 1796. In addition to archival work, we do preservation and exhibitions which are part of the projects for some interns. E. K Adams has BA in Philosophy-physiology-Psychology, an MA in Human Behavior/Anthropology, a second MA in Library Science with an archive concentration and is ABD in Anthropology. She is assisted in managing the archive by Zachariah Brackett, MA in Library Science.
