Oversized Materials – Inventory updates and brief preservation assessment

nder this project, a prospective intern would complete the following tasks:

1. Use extant inventories to compile a new inventory for the single map case that will be updated.
2. Review the materials in each drawer of the case and annotate the new inventory for:
a. What materials are archival and are of sufficient size to warrant remaining in the case;
b. What materials should be moved to smaller but still oversized boxes;
c. What is not archival;
d. What materials require preservation action, and what that would entail.
3. Conduct the same review for other oversized materials throughout the Archives.
4. Compile a list of needed supplies, if applicable, and then move items and/or rehouse as necessary.
5. Update the rebuilt Records Inventory Database (RID) with the results of the new inventories.
