Site Description
The Grosvenor Room of the Buffalo & Erie County Public Library hosts Special Collections and the library's Rare Book department. Special Collections focuses on local history, genealogy, music, and maps, with a variety of archival collections integrated into each subject area. The Rare Book department is one of only 25 in the country situated in a public library. The Rare Book collection is comprised of over 40,000 significant historic texts, including medieval manuscripts, incunabula, American history, and regional history.
