Project Details
Student will process the Alice H. Garside Papers (http://scua.library.umass.edu/garside-alice-h/), a collection of six boxes/7.5 linear feet (one box is mostly memorabilia, the rest documents) and produce a finding aid. The collection comes with an inventory and notes from the donor; the student will determine whether and how to adjust or refine the order, identify series, and rehouse the materials as needed, in accordance with archival standards and departmental practice. The student will create a full finding aid including a biographical note, scope note, series scope notes, and inventory, following SCUA practice (SCUA finding aids are typically encoded directly in EAD).

Availability
A student doing a field placement can come on Tuesday, Wednesday, or Friday, 9:00-5:00. I am sorry we cannot accommodate interns outside of weekday, daytime hours. The student should plan to have a regular schedule, e.g. come to SCUA every Tuesday or whichever is their preferred day (with some flexibility as needed).
