Introductory (LIS 438) - ABBY ESTES ROCKET

Student Abby Hanks will complete a 60-hour archives project in the company archives at Estes Rockets in Penrose, Colorado. Working with the company photo archives of more than 4,000 photographs and film negatives, she will identify, inventory, rehouse, and scan 500 photographs during this project. This will include creating a temporary image inventory listing in Microsoft Excel in anticipation of porting the data into PastPerfect Museum Software once the application is purchased and installed. Photos and negatives will be removed from their current acidic folders and envelopes, removed from cardboard backer boards, and separated into new photo sleeves and negative envelopes. Each will be scanned for later inclusion of the images into PastPerfect.
