Site Description
Hot Springs National Park was created as Hot Springs Reservation in 1832. Renamed as a national park in 1921, the site preserves the thermal waters flowing from Hot Springs Mountain. The park is comprised of 5,500 acres and has 47 hot springs that pour forth around 700,000 gallons of 143-degree water every 24 hours. The park Visitor Center and Museum is located in the former Fordyce Bathhouse, which opened in 1915. The park hosts around 2.5 million visitors annually.
