Former Massachusetts State Representative Denise Provost has donated her papers to the Somerville Public Library, including background research for Somerville Community News articles (the Somerville Community News was a newspaper that Somerville from a progressive perspective from 1977 to 1996, and papers from her years of service as a Somerville City Councilor). These papers need to be catalogued and put in proper archival housing. Simmons student Katy Connolly has agreed to assess these papers for inclusion in the Somerville Public Library’s Local History Collection, create catalog records for them, determine what archival housing they need, and create finding aids. For this work she will receive course credit for LIS 438.
