Site Description
The Farmington Libraries is an association library operating as a public library, with two branches: the Main branch is near town hall and the high school, and the Barney Branch is in historic Farmington Village.
The Farmington Room, on the second floor of the Main branch, houses archives and special collections focused mainly on Farmington and Unionville. The archives collection consists of photographs, town documents, account and day books, genealogies, materials pertaining to the history of the libraries and their parent organization, the Farmington Village Green and Library Association (FVGLA), and more. The special collections include rare and old books from the 18th and 19th centuries, city directories, town government publications, maps, and Farmington High School yearbooks. Some of the materials are digitized and available online at the CT Digital Archive.
