60-hour Internship

Mount Holyoke College Archives and Special Collections is seeking an enthusiastic intern for the spring semester 2025.

The internship will focus on digital projects, including but not limited to collection digitization, metadata creation, digital exhibits, and working with AV material. The intern will work closely with Archives and Special Collections staff.

This is an unpaid internship. Candidates should commit to working a number of days per week, or hours per week, based on the 60-hour internship requirements, at the archives. We are open 9:00am-5:00pm Monday through Friday.

Requirements
Candidates must be currently enrolled in Simmons' Library & Information Science graduate program specializing in archival studies. Interns must have attention to detail, thorough research skills, and excellent oral and written communication skills. The physical demands of the position include: ability to work with computer screens and printed materials; ability to effectively communicate via the telephone, email, virtually, and in person, and ability to lift boxes up to 40 lbs on a regular basis.
