Mare Parker O\u2019Toole, Assistant Director of \u00a0Earl Center for Learning & Innovation, will be showing us their new and exciting educational technologies. They have an active makerspace and resource center. This makes for a rich experience to research & practice your inner child and professional interests. Arrive early at 5:30 pm for networking and snack break. Show & Tell time is 6 pm<\/span><\/span>. Bell rings around 7:30<\/span><\/span> (with a half hour built in for questions, networking, and more food). Feel free to come late if need be!\u00a0Open to SLIS students.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

ALA-SC is hosting a three-person panel of hiring professionals from public, academic, and special libraries to discuss all things related to getting a job. This talk looks at the role Library Science education – particularly its evolution from an apprentice-based model to a field of academic study in the late 19th\/early 20th century – played in the career of Mary Elizabeth Wood, the founder of the modern library system in China, and a student at both Simmons College and the Pratt Institute.
