The Diversity, Equity, Race, Accessibility, and Identity in LIS Forum is an entirely student-run conference held in the spring that focuses on confronting and combating the oppressive systems within the LIS field. Each year, a team of Simmons students serve as committee members to organize the event, which has attracted the participation of MLIS students in programs across the country. This campaign is intended to highlight the value of public, academic, and school libraries, and the many ways in which these libraries deliver an increasing array of services, which contribute to strengthen communities.  Ms. Garcia-Febo will participate in a celebration of public and academic libraries, which will take place at Joan Lorentz park in front of the Main Library at 11:45 am.
