Sarah Prager, activist and author of “”Queer, There, And Everywhere”” will be giving a talk and answering your questions about queer history, writing, research, and literature for young adults. Her book explores LGBT+ history from the perspective of 23 individuals who changed the world:<\/span><\/div>\n
\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n
“This first-ever LGBTQ history book of its kind for young adults will appeal to fans of fun, empowering pop-culture books like Rad American Women A-Z and Notorious RBG. World history has been made by countless lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer individuals\u2014and you\u2019ve never heard of many of them.”<\/span><\/div>\n
\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n
“Sarah Prager is an activist, public speaker, and writer with a B.A. from Boston University and a Certificate of Communications from Emerson College. She is the founder and director of Quist, a free mobile app that aims to bring queer history to the world in an interesting and interactive way. Sarah came out as a lesbian at the age of fourteen and taught herself LGBTQ history as a means of gaining a sense of community. She has been an activist since that time, working for marriage equality, bisexual visibility, HIV prevention, sexual assault prevention, and basic LGBTQ human rights abroad. She has written about LGBTQ history for the Huffington Post, The Advocate, the It Gets Better Project\u2019s blog, and QED: A Journal of LGBTQ Worldmaking.”<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The panel will be held at Emerson College’s Bright Family Center Screening Room in Paramount Center. There is a breakfast at\u00a010:00<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>\u00a0and the panel begins at\u00a010:30<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>. The panel will explore topics of misrepresentation onstage and in the media, diversity and inclusivity in the performing arts as it relates specifically to API (Asian Pacific Islander) issues, and practical steps to advance racial equality. After this panel, we will gather in the Commons to have a casual chat breakdown of the panel and discuss how it applies to libraries.<\/div>\n
