On Saturday, the bulk of the GSLIS 2014 Paris study abroad ladies made their way to Versailles to see the palace, gardens, and Marie Antoinette’s estate. Little did we know upon arrival that a water fountain show was scheduled for the day. The gardens are full of fountains featuring goddesses, mammoth fish, and other works of sculptural genius. Most of the time, the fountains are not turned on. They look something like this:

Still so beautiful! But, from 3-5 pm all through the gardens, the fountains came to life. We walked from fountain to fountain. Each fountain had musical accompaniment, mostly opera. Grand is the word that comes to mind to express the experience.

Those who did not join were off on spectacular adventures of their own, including a trip to Germany and London—fun times for all!
