We felt unfettered and alive!

There have been several micro-adventures that have already transpired here in Paris! Here are two of a few sojourns that necessitate some blogging!

Let’s start with Stephanie Keller—on Saturday, the first full day in Paris, she and I sojourned to the Acr de Triomphe, a famous monument. In less than five minutes time, we made our way to the top of a spiral staircase that seemed to go on forever until we were greeted by a fantastic view of Paris and especially the Eiffel Tower. In a city known for long lines, it was spectacular to get to such a height so quickly. Speed aside, we were duly breath-taken by the sights.

At the bottom, we visited the gravesite that honors the dead who fought in the French Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars. A flame burns continually for those who fought and died in obscurity and yet are commemorated here.

On to Sarah Barnard! On Sunday, she and I went on a trip to Pont Neuf by way of the Louvre. Before heading out, we enjoyed sumptuous croissants paired with espresso.

Afterward, we crossed the Siene and saw some great sights en route to the  Louvre and Pont Neuf—such as:

And, lastly, Pont Neuf itself in which we had lunch and strolled along the Notre Dame!
