8-29-2013
It’s been a busy time before the fall semester officially starts the week of 9/9/2013. My Usability and UX Research class got 80 students registered in the initial enrollment, now with the upper limit as 30, the system has been trying to remove people. Currently in the second round of selection (with system control) I have 29 students officially in the class but 27 additional students registered. In other words, a total of 56 students in the list. The classroom may be able to accommodate 36 students the most, so I will have to see who shows up in the first class and only allow a total of 36 in the class.
I am now rather anxious with the semester approaching because I am not totally ready with the two courses set up especially the doctoral course which is new to me. Things such as the Usability Lab need to set up and the usability project needs site supervisors. I have been having conversations with NTU library directors and also the computer center staff members. I think things are coming into shape. However, in addition, I have several research deadlines, some journal paper reviews, some readings to do, and some presentations to prepare. I feel like multiple pressures coming at the same time and everyday I am making progress rather slowly.
I will be giving a workshop/talk to NTU LIS faculty on Wednesday 9/4/2013 about usability research using Morae and other tools.
Meanwhile, I want to enjoy life before the semester. Today is raining because of the Typhoon, but in the last few days there are some beautiful scenes at NTU from my way to work and to home.
- On the way to work, goose family at the lake
- On the way home, NTU night fall, beautiful sunset glow
Enjoy!
