Do you have an interest in Information Science or Information Technology?<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Simmons\u00a0ASIS&amp;T\u00a0has the following open board positions and we would like to invite students at SLIS Boston, SLIS West, or online students who would be interested.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">We welcome students from all tracks!<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"font-weight: 400\"><strong>Secretary (1 Position)\u00a0<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Duties include:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"font-weight: 400\">\n<li>Attending Student Leader Meetings (when possible)<\/li>\n<li>Keeping meeting minutes of board meetings<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4 style=\"font-weight: 400\"><strong>Treasurer (1 position)<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Treasurer is responsible for managing and documenting all aspects of\u00a0ASIS&amp;T\u00a0finances.\u00a0Duties include:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"font-weight: 400\">\n<li>Keeping an accurate record of all money spent and received<\/li>\n<li>Maintaining the budget<\/li>\n<li>Completing reimbursement forms<\/li>\n<li>Carrying out financial contribution sponsorships with other student organizations<\/li>\n<li>Any delegated tasks given by co-chair (within reason)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4 style=\"font-weight: 400\"><strong>NE-ASIS&amp;T\u00a0Liaison\u00a0(1 Position)<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">The NEASIS&amp;T\u00a0Liaison\u00a0will be responsible for communicating and collaborating with the New England\u00a0ASIS&amp;T\u00a0Chapter. Duties include:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"font-weight: 400\">\n<li>Attending monthly NEASIS&amp;T Programming Committee Meetings (virtual)<\/li>\n<li>Promoting NEASIS&amp;T events to Simmons\u00a0ASIS&amp;T\u00a0members<\/li>\n<li>Promoting Simmons\u00a0ASIS&amp;T\u00a0events to NEASIS&amp;T members<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4 style=\"font-weight: 400\"><strong>Webmaster\u00a0(1 Position)\u00a0<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">The\u00a0Webmaster\u00a0is responsible for managing the Chapter\u2019s blog. To fulfill this role, one should have some familiarity with using a content management system such as WordPress.\u00a0Duties include:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"font-weight: 400\">\n<li>Editing content that appears on the blog (ex: add, update, and remove posts) so as to inform visitors of upcoming events, activities, meetings, and opportunities<\/li>\n<li>Styling the blog &#8211; modify the layout and color scheme<\/li>\n<li>Creating widgets, menus, and pages as needed<\/li>\n<li>Utilizing other customization and dashboard settings to manage the blog<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you are interested in being considered for any of the above\u00a0open\u00a0positions or have questions pertaining to the duties\/responsibilities of a particular position(s), please send an email to\u00a0Jennifer Sunoo (<a href=\"mailto:jennifer.sunoo@simmons.edu\">jennifer.sunoo@simmons.edu<\/a>), and Nick Bodanza (<a href=\"mailto:nicholas.bodanza@simmons.edu\">nicholas.bodanza@simmons.edu<\/a>), the co-chairs of the Simmons\u00a0<span class=\"il\">ASIS&amp;T<\/span>\u00a0Student Chapter.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Would you like to burnish your leadership skills?
