There’s nothing like a new beginning to celebrate previous accomplishments. As the start of the spring semester approaches, we’d like to highlight ASIS&T’s work this past fall.<\/p>\n

Virtual Meet and Greet<\/h3>\n

For our first event of the school year, we invited the SLIS community to learn more about the ASIS&T student chapter and what we do at Simmons. Attendees also learned about Knowledge Management from guest speaker Glynys Thomas (\u201989). It was lovely to gather together and introduce what ASIS&T is all about.<\/p>\n

Virtual Pet Parade<\/h3>\n

Both human and furry friends joined us at the end of the semester for the ASIS&T Virtual Pet Parade. It was a light-hearted way to relax, check-in, and have a good time with beloved pets. What a wonderful way to wrap up the semester!<\/p>\n

Highlight: Innovation Fund Grant for IS&T Lab<\/h3>\n

Finally, we want to congratulate the Information Science and Technology faculty, including ASIS&T president-elect Prof. Agarwal and Simmons ASIS&T faculty board members Prof. Tang and Prof. Oh, for receiving a COCIS Innovation Fund award for the project\u00a0“Creating an Infrastructure for Innovative Research and Collaboration: Information Science & Technology Lab”.\u00a0The project will develop an IS&T\u00a0lab<\/span>\u00a0that will support IS&T research by promoting faculty and student research activities and serving as a hub for collaboration.
