This year, the student award will support up to $1,000 toward one of three events:\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.iasummit.org\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">IA Summit: A Broader Panorama<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> (May 4-8 in Atlanta, GA),\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.asis.org\/rdap\/\" class=\"broken_link\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">RDAP Summit: Research Data Access and Preservation<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> (May 4-6 in Atlanta, GA), or\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.asist.org\/events\/annual-meeting\/annual-meeting-2016\/\" class=\"broken_link\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">ASIS&amp;T Annual Meeting: Information Science with Impact: Creating Knowledge, Enhancing Lives through Information &amp; Technology<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> (October 14-18 in Copenhagen, Denmark). <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Each of these events offers excellent opportunities for current graduate students to gain more insight into the latest research in the broad and multifaceted field of information science. NE-ASIS&amp;T defines information science broadly to include future\u00a0librarians, archivists, data\/knowledge managers, information architects, web developers, or anyone else with a stake in the information science field. The goals of NE-ASIS&amp;T&#8217;s travel award\u00a0<\/span>are to support scholarship and connect research and practice and to bring new voices to the chapter. The student award will support a\u00a0year-long membership in ASIS&amp;T as well as the cost of\u00a0conference registration and some\u00a0travel costs to\u00a0the event venues.<\/p>\n<p>So if you&#8217;re a graduate student in a discipline \u00a0that falls under the broad umbrella of information science and technology, consider attending one of these events and applying for this generous award!\u00a0Visit <a href=\"http:\/\/neasist.org\/awards\/student-travel-award-winners\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"broken_link\">NE-ASIS&amp;T&#8217;s website<\/a> to see previous award winners.\u00a0The deadline for the 2016 award is Friday, February 19th.
