How to Get a Job! This Thursday!

ALA-SC is hosting a Brown Bag Lunch event next Thursday, November 20th to help answer your questions about how to get a job after you graduate! The three-person panel consists of SLIS professors Laura Saunders and Lisa Hussey and Career Education Center Director Andrea Wolf. They will share their expertise and knowledge on what libraries are looking for in grad students and will be happy to answer your questions!

The event is being held in the Collaboratory (P-314) from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m.  Light snacks and beverages will be provided.

Celebrating National Library Week: Library Snapshot Day!!

Deadline: Thursday, April 18th

In honor of National Library Week (April 14-20), ALA-SC invites you to submit a photo of your favorite library (either the one you work in or the one you live in!). No need to make it anything fancy—just snap the shot and submit it to us via our Facebook, Twitter, or by emailing it to us at gslisalasc@simmons.edu. We will be accepting submissions up until Thursday, April 18th when all the photos will be posted to our website and submitted to ALA for inclusion in their ongoing Library Snapshot project. Don’t miss the chance to share your library with the world!

ACLR Webinar: Embedded Librarians: Integrating Information Literacy Instruction at the Point of Need

GSLIS student are invited to attend a viewing up this fascinating webcast! More and more libraries are adopting embedded librarianship as an approach to creating an integrated and sustained library instruction presence in classes across the curriculum. In this webcast, embedded librarians will describe examples of successful embedded projects across the range of academic levels and departments, including both online and on-campus instruction.
